Tiwul


Tiwul, or Thiwul is the staple food rice substitute made from sweet potatoes or cassava is a root is a tuber or a long tree with an average physical diameter and 2-3 cm long, 50-80 cm, depending on the type of cassava grown. Tuber flesh white or yellowish. Cassava tubers store could not help but be placed in the refrigerator. Symptoms of damage are indicated by dark blue solution due to the formation of cyanide which is toxic to humans.

Cassava tubers are a rich source of energy but very poor carbohydrate protein. A good source of protein actually present in the cassava leaves because they contain the amino acid methionine .. South Mountain Population (Pacitan, Wonogiri, Gunung Kidul) is known to consume these foods daily.

Tiwul made from cassava. As a staple food, lower caloric content than rice, but enough to meet as a rice substitute food. Believed to prevent Tiwul ulcer disease, stomach growls, and so forth.
